Product Description Even since Dean was first established in 1976 in Chicago, the company has been making some of the industry’s leading guitars. The thirty plus years since that beginning have brought a lot of changes to the company as well as to guitar technology, and Dean has responded with a range of innovative instruments exhibiting the consistent quality that has made their guitars popular with many musicians. From Dave Mustaine of Megadeth to the jazz bassist Jeff Berlin, Dean continues to supply some of the top musicians with a variety of guitar choices.
The Dean PE-QM-TGE Concert Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar has a comfortable mini-jumbo body design, providing gorgeous looks and rich sound, along with typically innovative Dean designs. The PE-QM-TGE features a beautifully quilted maple top, back and sides, green abalone rosette, and the Dean-designed ebony bridge. The cutaway style allows for full access to the fast Dean fretboard, and permits you the best of both worlds--to have the feel of a true electric without forgetting that you still have the warmth of an acoustic in your hands. And with the Elan-4TN electronics with 3-band EQ and a built-in tuner, the guitar becomes instantly stage-ready, so you're able to plug-in and play. If you are looking for an affordable guitar that plays like one well above its price, then Dean's Performer is a great choice.

excellent guitar for a sweet price November 10, 2009 A. W. Atkinson (San Diego, CA) Plays nice, looks sharp. Excellent Electronics, built-in tuner, three band equilizer, volume, two outputs (1/4 inch and mic), but don't turn on the tuner while plugged in. Great guitar, excellent value.
An excellent instrument from Amazon supersale November 6, 2009 bluespower (northcoast, oh) The quality of this Dean is amazing. Neck perfectly straight. Intonation superb anywhere on the neck. Workmanship as good as any "brand name". The sound is clear and resonant. Great for anything from Dylan to Django, to delta blues, or whatever your bag is.
Nice pickup system, don't know exactly what Dean used but it sounds great thru a Pro-Reverb, for example. Tuner is accurate as I've checked it against the Boss TU-2, Planet Waves, etc., Finish is really nice. Came packed safely in a double-box. A hardshell case that will fit this is available from M.Friend, the classical size one for about $50. After a week of playing it you may want to change strings, came with D'Addario EJ16 gauge, .012-.053. Got it here from Amazon for $159.99. Amazing! I'll put this Dean against a Martin, it's that good.
Beautiful guitar, well built for the $160 price tag. October 17, 2009 W. Brown (Chattanooga, TN) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great guitar for $160. Has equalizer and a DIN (like a microphone) connector as well as a regular guitar jack for the built-in pickup. Its gorgeous in appearance. Sounds great, for the price. Its not a Gibson or a Martin, but its about 1/10th the price and great for practicing and even doing gigs on stage. You wouldn't be ashamed to be seen playing this beautiful guitar on stage. It looks and sounds amazing!
nice guitar June 30, 2009 jim brown 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Can't complain, $179.00 OTD. Worth the money. nice sound. Put some light gauge ELIXER strings on it and adjusted the action and I'm happy with it. Just to let you know, this guitar is not made in USA. Made in CHINA. But so is everything else these days. CHINA did a good job as far as I can see.
